Rogue Bellydance was founded by Luiza, a Pittsburgh-based hybrid-style bellydancer trained in both western and traditional bellydance. The dual training has molded Luiza into an artistic and captivating dancer, fusing sharp and precise isolations with show-stopping, dynamic, and lyrical movements. Constantly seeking balance in her own life, Luiza’s dancing mimics the complex duality of nature.

Trained in Tribal Fusion and American Cabaret bellydance, Luiza has additional training in Egyptian, Turkish, and Lebanese bellydance, as well as other dance forms, including  kathak (one of the eight major forms of classical Indian dance). She has studied with world-renowned bellydancers, including ShahrzadSuhaila SalimpourAisha AliSadie MarquardtJill ParkerZoe JakesMardi LoveKami LiddleMichele Sorensen, and many more. She proudly considers award-winning, former Bellydance Superstars member Victoria Teel her mentor.

Luiza is a former member of Maria Hamer’s HAMSA, a folkloric bellydance troupe inspired by Jamila Salimpour’s famed Bal Anat.
